My GF getting me a record player for Christmas one year and having me drag all my albums upstairs (was out of the game 05 - 15) was the greatest gift. My records don't have quirky pops because I'm not a child and I don't fuck them up - they sound as quiet and crystal clear as any CD or file I've ever had.Ī big part of the degradation of music as something tangible with real value is the fact that you have a couple generations who don't own any music and only listen to singles on streaming playlists that exist on a server and the buy in is negligible.īack in the pirate heyday I had over 30k songs that mostly never got listened to because they had no aesthetics or sense of value.
